Crofton Journal

Ballots for the special election for residents of Crofton were mailed on August 21, and should be arriving in the mail for those voters that have registered in the next few days.

The ballots must returned either by mail, or in person at the Courthouse, prior to 5 p.m. on September 12 to be included in the count.

The special election date has been set at September 12, but those wishing to register to participate in the election can still do so as long as their registration is received before September 1, 2023.

Voters that are currently 17, but would be 18 by November 7, 2023 can still register and vote in this election.

Friday, Aug. 25 is the voter registration deadline for those that might register using a mail-in registration, the Department of Motor Vehicles form or another State Agency registration, otherwise anyone can register in person in the Clerk’s office until September 1 at 6 p.m.

If anyone would need assistance to register, a proxy can be sent with the registration, but those must be requested by the Friday, Aug. 25 deadline.

Voter registration blanks are available at the City Clerk’s office in Crofton or at the County Courthouse.
