The 96th National FFA Convention that took place November 1st-4th "is one to remember this year," said director Stephanie Mann, Crofton's FFA adviser. Crofton students made the most of every minute while in Indianapolis, IN, being busy from early morning until late at night. They took part in general business sessions along with nearly 70,000 other FFA members, advisors, and guests from across the nation. They also attended the nation's largest Agricultural College and Career Fair and Expo.

Mrs. Stephanie Mann stated, "I recommend that every member attends at least one leadership workshop that is facilitated by former state/national FFA officers or motivational speakers from a variety of states." She encourages this because the workshops there are always geared towards leadership development, personal growth and/or career success.

In addition, Mann said, "We were very fortunate to spend time touring the Kentucky Derby Museum, Churchill Downs, and the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory."

The Crofton FFA member who attended this year made it a fantastic trip. Mann had nothing but good things to say when returning, "Every one of them was positive and represented our school, chapter, and community, and made me feel very well! I am so proud of the group of students I took to Indianapolis."

Mann feels that the most valuable thing an FFA member can get out of going to this convention is to see the broad scope of Agriculture outside the community, because there is so much more than cows, sows, and plows. Senior Tuff Foxhoven stated that his favorite part was, "Getting to go to new places, and seeing new things."

Mann stated, "My favorite memory was watching our members take it all in. I enjoyed watching Crofton FFA members work with and network with FFA members from a variety of states including Hawaii and even Puerto Rico!"
