The Lady Warriors held the Boone Central Cardinals to 0 points until one minute left in the first quarter before defeating them 76-33 on Tuesday, December 5. 

Although the varsity got off to a great start, earlier in the night the JV did not. Coach Tiffany Panning stated, “It is very important that the varsity gets off to a fast start, so the nights when we struggle in the JV games I feel it is harder to get the energy we need and keep it. We are one team and need each other every night. Starting the night with high energy and positivity is what we strive to have from all levels.” 

The Lady Warriors did not let up in the second quarter, only letting the Cardinals score 9 points. Crofton had 18 steals with senior Ellie Tramp leading with 5 of her own. The Warriors ended the half with 42 points. Junior Cassie Allen and Tramp led with 9 each. Tramp stated, “My teammates do a great job on defense and getting steals, which lead to our fast break points.”

The Warriors came out of half time fired up going on an 8 and 0 run to start the third quarter. Crofton continued to execute, finishing the third quarter 62-25.  The Warriors finished the game winning 76 to 33. C. Allen led the team with 17 points, she stated, “My teammates do a great job of finding me when I’m open and passing me the ball.” Tramp added 13 more of her own and junior Jaida Allen also had 10 points. 

The Warriors took on the Boyd County Spartans on Thursday, December 7. Coming out strong the Lady Warriors held the Spartans to 0 points till one minute left in the first half, ending the half  47-4. Junior Sammie Allen led the team in steals with 8. S. Allen stated, “ I am very happy how our defense has been doing. We work very hard in practice on our defense and I am glad to see that we are improving on it.” The Warriors continued to dominate in the second half beating the Spartans 68-11. 

At this point in season the Lady Warriors have an even scoring attack. Crofton had a lot of players score throughout the game with S. Allen dropping 16, Tramp adding 14 of her own, and Senior Caitlin Guenther with 12. 

The Warriors took on the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays on Saturday, December 9. After such a dominating week of play, the Warriors knew that GACC would be a challenge. Putting the team at ease, Coach Panning stated before tipoff, “It is just a game, win or lose they will know that we played them.” 

The Warriors started the first quarter with 2 turnovers and down by 2 points but their impeccable defense stepped it up and went on a 7-0 run, making the score 8 to 2. The Warriors ended the quarter up 11-5 with a buzzer beater from Guenther. “I know anyone on the team could do it, which gives me the confidence to just shoot it,” Guenther stated. 

Crofton started off the second quarter strong with a 3-pointer from S. Allen and a bunny from Guenther. The Warriors extended their lead and went into halftime leading 25-18. 
The Warriors had a shaky start the third quarter letting the Bluejays get within 3 points before Coach Panning called a timeout. The Warriors battled back and forth the whole third quarter but allowed the Bluejays to tie it at 30. Crofton had a few starters in foul trouble, but they were able to end the quarter up by 3, 37-34.

The Warriors extended their lead with a few buckets during the fourth quarter. With time running out, the Bluejays were forced to foul and the Warriors made clutch free throws to finish the game 55-45. Guenther ended the game with 16 points and 4 rebounds. S. Allen added 12 points and Tramp added 11 more.
