The 2021 Knox County redistricting has been completed now in the Knox County Clerk’s Office.

The Voter Registration System was updated to show the redistricting changes for Knox County Voting Precincts, Knox County Supervisor districts, ESU districts, NRD districts and Public Power districts. Registered voters in Knox County were mailed a new voter identification card on March 24 to show changes, if any. This card can also be used as an additional method of identification when needed.

Nonpartisan registered voters received a notice in addition to their voter identification card pertaining to a request of a Nonpartisan Partisan ballot. While the Nebraska Republican Party did not open their primary election, the Nebraska Democratic, the Nebraska Libertarian Party, and the Nebraska Legal Marijuana NOW Party did open their primary elections.

This means that Nonpartisan registered voters may request a Nonpartisan Republican ballot that would only have the Congressional Ticket on it while the other parties’ Nonpartisan Partisan ballots would have Congressional and State Tickets on them. There is no County Ticket on the Nonpartisan Partisan ballots. Nonpartisan registered voters are not required to request the extra ballot as it is the voter’s choice if they wish to request a Partisan ballot.

Nonpartisans requesting the Nonpartisan Partisan ballots will receive two ballots – their regular ballot along with the requested Partisan ballot. The request needs to be returned to the Knox County Clerk’s Office by April 15 as all ballots will be mailed to registered voters on April 20, 2022.

Requests can be mailed to the Knox County Clerk’s Office at PO Box 166, Center NE 68724; faxed to 402-288-5605 or emailed to clerk@knoxcountyne.gov. Please call Knox County Clerk Joann Fischer at 402-288-5604 with any other questions or need additional information.
