18U Crofton Softball Team

Crofton’s 18 and under softball team finished fourth in their District Tournament this past weekend: They played a total of five games and won three of them.Albion 6-5, O’Neill Pride 6-3, and Albion 5-4. Coach Lonnie Tramp said, “They did extremely well. Their defence was out of this world, and that’s really what brought us so far. They improve every game.” The 18 and unders will play their next home game against Hartington this Thursday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m. This year’s team includes, back row (l to r): Coach Tony Guenther, Rebecca Leader, Caitlin Guenther, Brianna Berger, Cameryn Fiscus, Megan Tramp, Brittany Tramp and Coach Lonnie Tramp; and front row (l to r): Jenna Wiebelhaus, Annabelle Poppe, Alexis Folkers, Ellie Tramp and Kaylee Mauch.

Crofton’s 10 and under softball team were District Runner Ups after three games last Friday, June 10. They beat Norfolk 6-3, and Battle Creek 11-6. Coach Scott Morrison said,”It was a fun day, the girls did a really great job of being open, and working as a team. They also learned a lot, going from playing a league with lots of coach pitch, they played districts with all player pitch. It was an adjustment, but they played the games comfortably and agressivly. They stayed with it and had fun.” This year’s team included, front row (l to r): Berkley Hames, Jayden Tramp, Maci Kolterman, Alondra Lopez-Barrios, Layla Foxhoven and Ava Pautler; and back row (l to r): Angie Connot, Jamie Tramp, Grace Morrison, Zoey Wieseler, Hadley Becker, Skyler Sejnoha, Lauren Connot, Laura Morrison and Scott Morrison.
