The Warrior defense lines up against the Bees’ offense

The Crofton Warriors played a hard fought game against the Bloomfield Bees Friday, September 2, but lost the game 10-28. 

Crofton had the first possession in the first quarter; they didn’t make it far until the Bees stopped them and forced them to punt. On Bloomfield’s second play of their drive, they snapped it too far back and Crofton forced a safety. On the Warriors next drive, sophomore Wyatt Tramp broke a tackle and ran into the end zone. Senior Simon McFarland then threw it to sophomore Braxton Foxhoven to get the extra two points and make the score 10-0. The Bees scored on their next drive and got the two point conversion and made the score 10-8 to close out the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Warriors almost scored, but the Bees stopped them on downs at the 15 yard line. Then the Bees used the next possession and scored to make it 14-10. The two point conversion failed. Crofton was pushing down the field on their next drive, but the Bees stopped them on downs for a turnover. On the Bees’ next possession, senior Ty Tramp sacked Bloomfield’s quarterback to stop their drive and force a turnover on downs. The score at halftime was 14-10 with Bloomfield up. 

The Warriors kicked off to Bloofield to start off the third quarter. The Bees were marching up the field until they fumbled it, Ty Tramp recovered it for the Warriors. Bloomfield stopped Crofton on their possession and forced them to punt. The Bees scored on their next possession to bring the score to 20-10; however Bloomfield couldn’t convert the two point conversion. Crofton was stopped on their next possession and was forced to punt. 

The Bees scored during their first drive of the fourth quarter and got the two point conversion to bring the score to 28-10. Bloomfield stopped the Warriors on their next drive and won the game 28-10. After the game, seniors McFarland and Paxton Bartels both said that they did a good job on special teams during the game, they just need to work on their offense and improve it for the games to come. 

Crofton plays at home against Neligh-Oakdale on Friday, September 9 at 7 p.m.
