The Crofton boys basketball team played against Boyd County on Friday, December 9. 

In the first and second quarter, Crofton dominated the scoring, 7-5 in the first quarter then 11-8 in the second. The Crofton boys would lose their groove in the last two quarters with Boyd County scoring 10-8 and 20-11 over Crofton. The final score was 43-37 with Boyd County coming out on top. 

The Crofton boys had the edge in both offensive and defensive rebounds as they pulled down 11 offensive and 21 defensive rebounds. However, Boyd County was able to score 11 points off of the 16 turnovers from Crofton.

Sophomore Braxston Foxhoven led the Warriors in scoring with 15 points, while senior Simon McFarland followed behind with a tally of eight. Foxhoven would also lead the Crofton team in rebounds with 15. 

Crofton vs GACC

The Crofton boys basketball team faced off against Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Saturday, December 10. While the Crofton boys basketball team put up a good fight, the first quarter ending in a close score of 10-11, Crofton would unfortunately struggle to score for the next three quarters. The final score was 64-40 in favor of GACC.

In the game, Crofton’s defense was solid as they were able to out-rebound GACC, 17 compared to 12. 

The Warriors had trouble taking care of the ball with 25 turnovers to the Bluejays who then scored 26 points off of those turnovers. Coach Frank Gade stated in an interview that he will address this by having the Crofton boys train on situational work and ball handling.

McFarland scored the most points for Crofton, tallying 16 points with Foxhoven adding an additional eight points, and junior Jace Foxhoven with seven points. McFarland and Foxhoven also pulled down seven rebounds each while Foxhoven would trail them with five. 
The leading scorer for GACC was Trey Smith scoring 24 points.

The Crofton Warriors’ next game will be at home against Niobrara-Verdigre on Thursday, December 15 at 8:00 p.m.
