The Lady Warriors took on the Niobrara-Verdigre Cougars in a competitive game at Crofton Community Schools on Tuesday, January 10. 

In the end, the Warriors finished strong, winning with a score of 53-43.
Crofton maintained a steady lead by putting in shots and getting rebounds, leaving halftime with a score of 35-21. The game was very physical early on with senior Blair Jordan taking an elbow to the face, resulting in a broken nose. 

Jordan said, “The hit was an unfortunate accident and the player and family reached out after the game to apologize.”

With 11 points, Sammie Allen scored the most points in the game. Following her, Caitlin Guenther and Ellie Tramp had nine points each. 

Vs. West central
The Crofton Lady Warriors held a home game against West Central on Thursday, January 12. 
The varsity girls tipped off at 6 o’clock. Caitlin Guenther and Jaida Allen led the team with 10 points each, along with Ellie Tramp scoring 8 points. 

Lexi Wiebelhaus, scoring 4 points, was asked what her mindset was going into the game. She said, “I wasn’t really sure how good they were. I knew I really needed to be prepared, because we fell short to them last year. I was ready for revenge. It was a big win, and we needed it to really get a good look on how we are going to be this year. It was a good test.” 

The Lady Warriors finished off the game winning with the score of 43-32. 

Vs. Lakota Tech
The Lady Warriors traveled to Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota, to compete against Lakota Tech on Saturday, January 14. 

The top three scorers were Ellie Tramp with 16 points, Caitlin Guenther with 14, and Sammie Allen with 11. Tramp also was declared MVP of the game. Tramp said, “I received a basketball and I felt very happy and honored.” 

The girls took home a solid win with the final result of the game being 58-48. 
The Lady Warriors' season is still going strong with a record of 13-1. They will play the Ponca Indians at home on Thursday, January 19 at 6.
