The Crofton Speech Team handled business at Wayne, taking home a seventh place as a team on Saturday, February 4. 

The Warriors put in a valiant effort in all three preliminary rounds and the finals round. Being a young team they were glad to receive seventh out of eighteen teams at such a huge meet. 

In duet acting, Junior Elizabeth Wortmann and Senior Megan Tramp wowed the judges and won first place.Tramp stated, “We have come a long way, but we have room for improvement.” Sophomores Grant Schieffer and Camryn Fiscus competed hard as well in their duet performance, they placed 23rd. 

Wortmann also placed second with a great performance in Entertainment. Sophomore Jack Schieffer competed hard and earned seventh in Entertainment as well. 

Senior Rori Schmidt earned a second place finish in Program of Oral Interpretation.
J.Schieffer also placed eighth in humorous prose, and junior Kaylee Mauch placed tenth overall with a performance in humorous.

Junior Carter Guenther competed hard and placed eighth overall in extemporaneous speaking. Freshman Katie Neuharth also put up a good performance, placing sixteenth  in extemporaneous speaking. Not far behind her is Sophomore Madelyn Loecker placing seventeenth in the same category. 

Guenther also placed eighteenth overall in persuasive speaking. 

Madelyn Loecker placed thirteenth in Informative Speaking. Freshman Sophia Wortmann placed not too far behind with a sixteenth place finish in Informative Speaking. 

The Oral Interpretation of Drama team which consisted of Grant Schieffer, Jack Schieffer, Mauch, Tramp, and Schmidt, placed seventh overall.

The Crofton Warriors Speech Team will go to Wausa Saturday, February 11, for the Wausa-Osmond Speech meet.
