It was the viewing of the 1960’s movie “Woodlawn” which inspired Gil and Laurie Larsen of Bloomfield to initiate activity in the area to overcome hatred which may be present and bring Christ back into the hearts of individuals. That activity has taken the form of monthly concerts at The Barn at God’s Country near Center, which began on Wednesday, June 30 and are expected to extend through November 2021. Ed Kleinschmit and Bob Haberer of American Legion Post 128 accept a check of $100 to use toward their elevator project. The money was given to the Crofton Rescue Squad by Modern Woodmen and the squad voted to direct the funds to the legion’s project.

Crofton Rescue Squad holds EMT class... The Crofton Rescue Squad hosted a class on Monday, June 21 with the help of some area youngsters. Emergency personnel from Crofton, Bloomfield and Creighton reviewed skills with pediatric patients in a mass casualty incident under the direction of instructor Adele Anderson.

A 8-and-under girls softball tournament was held in Crofton this past weekend, and the Crofton team took second-place overall. The top three were Wausa, first-place; Crofton, second; and Osmond, third-place.
